The genuine friendly atmosphere of the Old Mill allows residents to mix freely with the regular body of locals who openly act as its most effective promoters. Customer satisfaction is the central foundation stone of the success of Key Inns in general and the Old Mill in particular. Customer and resident-guest reaction is carefully monitored in a discreet way by all staff who seek nothing less than excellence in their performance.

Stayed here for two nights to visit the Lumiere festival in Durham. Superbly clean, well-equipped rooms which were excellent value for money. Food was well priced and very good. Busy restaurant/bar with friendly, efficient staff. Nothing too much trouble and guests were well looked after. Some intrusion from road noise but nothing too drastic. Will definitely stay here again. Ideally place dfor Durham and only 25 mins to Newcastle as well.


I stayed at the Old Mill for one night at the end of October 2013. It would be hard to beat for the price the quality of the room and the friendliness of the service. My room and the bathroom were both spacious. The bed was large and comfortable. I also ate dinner at the hotel and the it was excellent. Cannot fault the place.


Great place rooms fantastic and food excellent we will definitely be back and great place to go with friends and family. What we saw family more than welcome and a lovely atmosphere! Staff were really friendly and nothing was too much trouble!
